Someone will need to drive you home. On the way home from the dentist, your seat in the car should be in the reclined position. When at home, lie down with your head slightly elevated. Someone should stay with you for the next several hours because of possible disorientation and possible injury from falling. Please do not return to work the day of your sedation appointment. You can resume your normal meal routine as soon as you feel capable. Please note the eating limitations listed below.

COLD SENSITIVITY

Due to the trauma of having any dental treatment, the nerves may react by being cold sensitive. This is common and should get back to normal in a couple of days to a week. If cold sensitivity persists or gets worse, please contact our office to advise.

GUMS & MUSCLE TENDERNESS

There may be soreness in the area where injections were given and around the gums of the treatment area. This could last for a coup of days. Muscle soreness in the jaw area may also result from keeping your mouth open for an extended period of time.
