Cold sensitivity can be common after fillings are placed. It is usually temporary and can last from 24 hours up to a week. It should gradually get better and go away. If cold sensitivity persists after a week, re-evaluation may be necessary. Call the office if you have questions or concerns. If, after the anesthetic wears off, the bite feels wrong when you chew or close your teeth together - we may need to see you for a quick visit to adjust the bite. This generally will not correct itself and if left unadjusted may cause lingering sensitivity.
