Expect to experience some soreness and tenderness after anesthesia. The usual time for anesthesia to wear off is three to four hours; however, it can take five or six hours depending on how it works through your system and where it was administered. Anything with Ibuprofen is advisable after dental treatment. If you cannot take Ibuprofen, any over the counter pain medication will work until the soreness subsides.
